THREE films have been made to show the wonder and appeal of the Ledbury Poetry Festival, and local people are being invited to take a look.

The three films were screened privately in the Great Hall of the Master's House on Thursday, January 21.

A spokesman said: The screening was for Festival friends, volunteers and sponsors.

“It was wonderful to see the hall festooned with bunting – such a beautiful and cheerful setting for our three Festival Films.

"We held the screening for Friends, Volunteers and Sponsors as a way of thanking them for everything they do for the Festival, and to show the work we do in schools and the community all year round.”

The three films have been made with funding we received from the Elmley Foundation, who have been key supporters of the Festival since its inception.

The spokesman added: "The films are beautiful, cinematic illustrations of the Festival. The main film uses haiku spoken by poets, volunteers and shopkeepers of Ledbury who make the Festival the magical experience that it is for many people.

"The other two films detail the work the Festival does in local schools and the community which we would like to promote more widely.”

Stars who feature include the Monty Python star, Michael Palin, who appeared at the Festival last year.
