ARTISTS, photographers, crafts people, art groups and galleries across the county are being invited to take part in the 2016 Worcestershire Open Studios event.

The event takes place from Friday August 26 to Monday August 29 and is set to build on the success of last year’s inaugural open studios weekend, which saw the work of over seventy artists on show at 27 locations across Worcestershire.

A spokesman said: "These comprised a mix of artists’ studios and homes, shared spaces and several established galleries.

"Painting, drawing, print-making, photography, crafts and sculpture are all expected to be featured".

Artist and co-ordinator, Sally Morgan said: “Open studios are a great way for artists to raise their profile, sell their work and build a following.

"They don’t even need to have a studio. For local residents and visitors, they are a fantastic chance to sample a wide range of local art work for free.”

Abstract artist, Cherrie Mansfield, said: “Worcestershire Open Studios is a great opportunity to meet and share artwork with lots of different people.

"Visitors to my open studio can expect to see a selection of bold, colourful paintings. I’m looking forward to it already.”
