THE man "who cycled the world" will be taking off his bicycle clips for an illuminating talk at Malvern Theatres.

Record-breaking cyclist, Mark Beaumont, will bring his "Africa Solo" show to the Worcestershire venue on Wednesday, March 30.

A spokesman said: "Author, broadcaster and ultra-Endurance adventuring cyclist, Mark Beaumont cycled the world, solo, in 195 days. He cycled the Americas, solo, at the more ‘leisurely’ pace of 257 days. He rowed the Arctic. He almost drowned after capsizing during an attempt at the mid-Atlantic rowing record.

" In 2015, the world record-breaking, award-winning, two-time best-selling author, broadcaster, ultra-endurance British adventurer and cyclist Mark Beaumont cycled Africa, smashing the Cairo to Cape Town solo record in under 42 days, cycling an average of 160 miles every day. Now he returns to UK stages to tell his story."

In 2008, Mark became known as ‘The Man Who Cycled the World’ when he completed what was then an incredible record-breaking 18,000 mile circumnavigation cycle of the World, which he swiftly followed with a 13,000 mile cycle of the American Cordillera, the longest mountain range on the planet, and summiting the continent’s two highest peaks for the BBC One documentary, "The Man Who Cycled the Americas".

The Daily Mail has called him, not surprisingly,

“A true man of the world".

He is also, most likely, a one man godsend to the bicycle tyre industry.
