ONE of Mexico's top salsa dancers is launching dance classes for children and adults in Malvern and Worcester.

Edwin Rodriguez Ovalle is a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer specialising in Latin Rhythms.

A spokesman said: "Originally from Mexico, he moved to Worcester in March 2016 after falling in love with and marrying a local Worcestershire woman.

"Currently rated in the top ten of the best salsa dancers in Mexico, Edwin has performed nationally and internationally over the past six years and succeeded in winning various dance competitions. He is also trained in contemporary dance, ballet, hip-hop, ballroom, Yoruba, jazz and Broadway-style dance."

Edwin's other main passion is teaching others to dance, as well as choreographing and producing dance productions.

He set up a dance school in Puerto Vallarta teaching various dance styles to all ages and abilities, including children and adults with disabilities, and is keen to do the same in Worcestershire.

Edwin said: "Dancing is my passion and I'm so excited to be launching salsa classes in Worcestershire. Salsa is a fun, social dance which is easy to learn and suitable for all ages. It's a great way of meeting people and getting fit. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, come along to one of my classes and see for yourself."

Weekly classes start from Friday April 15 at Ballet Malvern Centre of Dance.
