VAMOS Theatre, the UK's pioneering full mask theatre company, needs a new red van.

Staff at Worcester-based Vamos Theatre are running a crowdfunding campaign to help replace their indispensable red tour van, whose days of touring are coming to an end.

Verity, the Vamos van, has done the company proud in the last four years, touring cast, crew and workshop leaders to over 300 performances in theatres and arts centres, to over 200 workshops at 88 schools, to 33 care homes, including many in Worcestershire, and overall reaching 52,963 people nationwide.

A spokesman said: "Verity has started to show her age, and it’s soon time for her to retire to a small field outside Hereford where she can spend the rest of her days sitting in the sun, watching the sheep, and dreaming of her time in the limelight.

"Whilst Vamos has project funding for some of its work, it is up to the company to fundraise for Verity’s replacement. This year also sees Vamos celebrating ten years since it first set up in Worcester, and as part of marking this milestone, the aim is to raise £4000 - 20% of the cost of a replacement van - and secure Vamos’s big red transport for the future.

"Vamos is proud to be a Worcester-based arts company, and wants local people to get behind them and help replace Verity. The most generous donor also gets to name Verity’s successor."
