A YOUNG actress from Worcester is making waves with Shakespeare, and she is set to go in a major tour with "All's Well that Ends Well", including to Germany.

Eleanor Yates studied at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and she is currently starring as Helena in the Shakespeare play, with the Bristol-based company, The Tobacco Factory, as part of their Shakespeare season.

The resourceful character she plays, Helena, is the daughter of a recently deceased court physician.

She is in love with Bertram, the son of a count, and is determined to win him, despite her relatively humble status.

Eleanor is no stranger to the spotlight, including for television and film.

She played Letty in the television series, "The Crimson Petal and the White", and she was Effie Ruskin in the film, "Mr Turner".

But before she trod the boards as a professional actress, Eleanor was a pupil of the Blessed Edward Oldcorne College and Worcester Sixth Form College.

He proud mum, Marie said: " As we come to the special 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death this weekend, I thought that local people might be interested in a local young person who is so successfully involved in remembering his work.

"The company will also tour All's Well, and Hamlet, around the country in May and June."

Stops will include Winchester, Lancaster, Scarborough, Derby, Salford and Exeter.

The final stop will be the Neuss Globe Shakespeare Festival, in Germany, on June 25.

Further information about the company, including dates when they will be touring the country are available from their website on www.stf-theatre.org.uk
