HALF-TERM boredom can be chased away easily enough with a trip to Bromsgrove's Artrix venue.

Patrick Lynch from CBeebies will be pulling the strings at Artrix this half-term "in a wonderful stage production of The Curious Adventures of Pinocchio".

This will be on Sunday May 29.

A spokesman said: "Based on the best loved children’s classic, this charming show is ideal for ages five and over.

"Crickets, cats, foxes and of course the world-famous Pinocchio will spring out of the puppet box and Patrick will bring them to life. Come and join him on this incredible journey, you’ll have a whale of a time."

A fugitive fox and a rookie bunny cop uncover a conspiracy in Zootropolis which will be screening at Artrix Cinema during the Whitsun break.

The spokesman said: "Officer Judy Hopps discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox."

Last but by no means least, families are invited to join Birmingham’s comic housewife, Mrs Barbara Nice and friends for Comedy with Cake. Barbara will be joined by Maureen Younger and Ian Crawford "for an afternoon session of fun and fondant".

That will be on Sunday June 5.
