THE Worcester-based Vamos Theatre group has been invited to perform its show, "Finding Joy" at Edinburgh, this summer.
Producers from Assembly, organiser of prestigious Edinburgh Fringe events, came to see the mask-based Vamos perform in London as part of London International Mime Festival earlier in the year, and they booked the company for the Festival at one of their high profile venues in central Edinburgh.
Director Rachael Savage, who also plays Joy in the production, said: “I’m so excited about Vamos performing in Edinburgh, and it’s a real honour to be invited by Assembly. It’s so important that all our supporters and friends help to spread the word, as Edinburgh can be a daunting financial risk for any company.”
Finding Joy has received eight 5 star press reviews, "and audience feedback has been hugely positive in praise of its humour, poignancy, warmth, and the skills of its mask work, original soundtrack and design".
The invitation to perform at Edinburgh comes during an exciting year for the company, whose work will also have been seen in South Africa and Finland.
Vamos’s 72-date sell out UK tour of The Best Thing finishes next week in Worcester at The Swan on June 3 and June 4.
