A WORCESTERSHIRE audience can enjoy a quirky tale of Robin Hood in the open air of Priory Park, Malvern, this weekend.

Jenny Wren and her Merry Men will offer tight-slapping fun on Saturday, July 30, from 7pm.

The park, with entrance via the Coach House, will be available for those with picnics, from 6pm.

A spokesman said: "Jenny Wren and her Merry Men take on the infamous Sheriff of Nottingham in this brand new adaptation of the tale of the popular folk hero, Robin Hood, who stole from the rich to give to the poor. "As he strives to win the Golden Arrow and the hand of the valiant Maid Marian, Robin and his motley crew entertain all the family with their own unique brand of action, adventure, astonishingly attractive actors and appalling green tights."

The spokesman added: "It’s really exciting this year to be producing a totally home grown version of Robin Hood. It’s scripted by our very own Joe Hackett, who has been a member of the Jenny Wren Company for years and enjoys writing as well as performing. Expect plenty of laughs and quite a few surprises."
