THIS is the summer holiday to became a very famous person in Worcester, but only if you get yourself along to the cathedral.

A spokesman said: "This summer holiday, children and young people have the opportunity for their photograph to be taken as a famous person in history at Wonder Wardrobe, an event inspired by the ‘Dressed for Drama’ costume exhibition at the cathedral.

"To compliment the costume exhibition, there are a number of costume-inspired fun, creative and mad activities for families.

The next sessions will be based in the cathedral's cloister on Tuesday August 23, Wednesday August 24 and Thursdays August 25, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm on those days

Activities will include brass rubbing, depicting dames, knights and bishops; dressing up, "rummaging through the dressing-up box to try on mediaeval, choir, monk and bishop costumes, and madness, "having your photograph taken as Queen Elizabeth I, King Henry VIII, William Shakespeare and King John sealing the Magna Carta in a range of specially painted Head in the Holes".

The spokesman added: "For those wishing to chill quietly, there is an opportunity for all ages to try out Mindfulness Colouring sheets in the Lady Chapel at the cathedral’s east end."

The events are being led by Worcester Cathedral’s education officers Sue Adeney and Sara Hayward.

Sara said, “There’s no need to book for these special days; simply turn up. Families can also enjoy other events in the cathedral such as the costume exhibition, climbing the tower, taking a tour and seeing King John’s tomb and interactive exhibition.”
