WORCESTER'S in the middle of the Worcester Festival, and the fun will keep coming until the end of the month.

Festival Director, Chris Jaeger said: “This is always an incredibly exciting time of year. There are so many things to see and do; the range and diversity of events is something that we’re really proud of.

"There really is something for everyone. Even better, most of the events are completely free. We really hope as many people as possible come along and get involved.

"Festival regulars can expect all of the Festival favourites, including Festival mascot Percy the Peacock, the Funky Faces Face Painters, Butterfly Puppet Theatre, and live music in the High Street every Saturday August 20 and Saturday, August 27."

The spokesman added: "Worcester Arts Workshop will be holding workshops for children and young people, Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum and The Commandery are both playing host to exhibitions and activities aplenty, and the cathedral's tower will be open.

"If that isn't enough, the characters of this year’s Swan Theatre Pantomime, Cinderella, will be joining the Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers band on the High Street on the final Saturday, August 27, for a little bit of family magic."

As always, the Festival will come to an end with a bang with the St Richard’s Hospice Fireworks, a finale to the fortnight's celebrations on the August Bank Holiday Monday, with entertainment down on South Quay from 9pm, before the display at 10pm.
