LOCAL art buffs and the curious have until August Bank Holiday Monday to catch up with a controversial art installation about the refugee crisis.

The installation, "Life's a beach", is part of this year's Malvern Art Show, which has the theme, "Art For Amnesty".

Elaine Bentley, show curator said: "With a special focus on Syrian refugees, the exhibition also raises funds for Amnesty`s challenging presence across the world."

“I've been very lucky having help and encouragement from Trevor Trueman, the show director, and Martin Southam, engineer, with the transformation and transportation of a cast iron bath to Malvern."

She said of Life's a Beach: "Different, strange and moving, it`s making people curious enough to come to see it, surrounded by paintings, textiles, ceramics and sculptures by a host of artists.”

The show at the Friends Meeting House, College Road, Malvern, runs until August 29 at the Friends Meeting House, College Road Malvern.
