MRS Barbara Nice is Birmingham’s favourite housewife; but will she go down a storm with a Worcestershire audience?

A spokesman said: "Janice Connolly, who plays Barbara, was spotted by Peter Kay and her appearances in That Peter Kay Thing and Phoenix Nights made her a kitchen sink legend. Her banter, proliferation of handbags and crazy anecdotes explain her huge popularity, and she recently starred in a Radio 2 comedy sitcom series which is due back on air later this year.
"Barbara will be one of the comedy stars appearing in a new event taking place at Artrix Arts Centre in Bromsgrove on Sunday September 11. Comedy with Cake is a family-friendly show which will be hosted by stand-up comic, compere and actor, Maureen Younger. Barbara will co-star alongside quirky stand-up Josh Pugh who won the new act competition in both the Birmingham and Nottingham comedy festivals last year."
