OLD School comedy will entertain a Chateau Impney audience, next month.

The Impney Comedy Night will take place on Friday, October 7, and taking a bow will be Roy Walker and also John Thomson, the "Cold Feet" and "Fast Show" star.

A spokesman said: "Although he’s a critically acclaimed stand up, he’s stuck to a lot of TV acting over recent years, so his performance is going to be really special."

"The event is the third big-name comedy gig to be held at the landmark hotel. We have welcomed some of the most renowned comedy acts in the country to Droitwich in recent months, including Katherine Ryan and Joe Lycett. But for the latest comedy evening, organisers have gone a little more old-school, securing some of the most enduring stand-ups on the comedy circuit."

Thomson’s appearance will be his first stand-up gig in several years and comes hot on the heels of the successful return of ITV’s Cold Feet, the hit comedy drama show that made him a household name.

The spokesman added: "While many will know him for his acting, true comedy fans will remember him for the cult characters he played in The Fast Show, including Chip Cobb, the deaf stuntman, and jazz club host Louis Balfour with his memorable ‘nice!’ catchphrase.

Roy Walker is known for hosting the popular Saturday night game show Catchphrase, he has been a mainstay on the comedy circuit since the 1970s.

The spokesman said: "In recent years Walker has delivering acclaimed comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as starring in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights and reaching younger audiences with Car Park Catchphrase on Radio 1. Despite being at a stalwart of British comedy scene for over 30 years, his brand of comedy still endures."
