AS autumn starts to settle in, Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society will be taking local people to a tropical paradise, with new production of the ever-popular musical, South Pacific.

The show, at The Swan Theatre, will run from Tuesday, October 18 to Saturday, October 22.

A spokesman said: "Set in an island paradise during World War II, it tells two parallel love stories and confronts the dangers of prejudice and war through one of the most celebrated Rodgers and Hammerstein musical scores of all time.

"Happy Talk, Younger Than Springtime, There Is Nothin' Like A Dame are just three of the songs that have captivated audiences throughout the world."

The spokesman added: "There's lots of sing-a-long songs, plenty of dancing and it's a real, colourful family show."
