THE Courtyard at Hereford is celebrating after the success of the theatre's recent production, Lord of the Flies.

More than 2500 people watched the performance during its week long run, from October 6 to October 15.

The production, which was based on William Golding’s classic novel, featured members of The Courtyard’s Youth Theatre performing alongside professional actors Jamie Bacon and Stanton Wright.

The Youth Theatre cast consisted of two companies with boys and girls taking on roles such as Roger and Piggy.

A spokesman said: "As Lord of the Flies is a GCSE text, the performance was attended by schools from across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and further afield to support their studies. The Education team from The Courtyard will also be visiting these schools to provide drama workshops to further develop students’ understanding of the text."

David Durant, Associate Director at The Courtyard, said “I am so pleased with the response we have had to Lord of the Flies here at The Courtyard. Our Youth Theatre members and actors have delivered incredible performances”.
