AN audience at The Courtyard in Hereford will probably not talk very much during a forthcoming film, because that would miss the main point.

And it's probably just as well if they turn their mobile phones off as well.

The meditative movie, In Pursuit of Silence, will explore "our relationship with silence, sound, and the impact of noise on our lives".

A spokesman said: "Ten years since An Inconvenient Truth highlighted the dangers of global warming, In Pursuit Of Silence and hopes to do the same for noise pollution.

"Created by award-winning director, Patrick Shen In Pursuit of Silence looks at noise pollution and represents it as a global crisis that impacts us on a daily basis.

"The documentary backs this up with evidence from a range of global experts, their research and warnings from the World Health Organisation that states noise pollution is the second-most pressing threat to public health, after air pollution."

The film will be showing at The Courtyard on November 9 and November 10.
