NO one is expected to fall asleep with a performance of the panto, "Sleeping Beauty" at Cheltenham's Bacon Theatre.
A spokesman said: "You will be kept wide awake with a new version of this much loved fairy story.
"Sleeping Beauty is the tale of a beautiful princess who is cursed by an evil witch. The entire kingdom rejoices when a new princess is born but their happiness is short-lived when an evil sorceress places a curse on the infant; the princess will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die on her 16th birthday."
The spokesman added: "This magical panto is fun for all ages; – it’s enchanting, entertaining and very funny, and follows the plot of the original story but with modern twists and turns along the way."
Sleeping Beauty at The Bacon will run form Wednesday January 18 to Sunday January 22 at 7pm each evening, and matinees on the Saturday and Sunday at 2.30pm.
