LEWIS Carroll’s timeless children’s stories Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass will be brought to life by The Courtyard Youth Theatre in Hereford, this April.

A spokesman said: "On a glorious summer’s afternoon, young Alice happens upon a smartly dressed rabbit looking at his watch and muttering, I’m too late!

"This being an unexpected occurrence, she follows him down a nearby rabbit hole and falls into Wonderland.The amazing Lobster Quadrille, the Queen of Hearts’ infamous croquet match and the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party are just a few of the remarkable events and characters in this enchanting play."

The spokesman added: "The well loved children’s classic is suitable for all the family and will be performed by members of The Courtyard’s Youth Theatre."

Ellen Dorsett, youth and communities participation manager at the Courtyard, added: “This year’s production is going to be full of energy, colour and wonder.

"Every single young person on stage has an important part to play in bringing this well known and loved classic to life in front of the audience’s eyes, and they are definitely rising to the challenge.”

Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass will be in The Courtyard’s Main House from Wednesday April 19 to Saturday April 22, from 2pm to 7pm.
