SEVERN Jazz is set to celebrate six years of continuous jazz in Worcester.

Pat Holly, who started the club in April 2011 said: "I really didn’t know at the start just how long it would last. We have had our ups and downs and moved to a number of venues, but the standard of music has always been very high and we still strive to bring the best of jazz within reach of everyone in the Worcester area."

To celebrate the birthday there will be a special evening with Alan Barnes on reeds and David Newton on piano together with Dave Green on bass and Matt Skelton on drums, on Friday April 7, from 7pm.

The line-up is the dream team choice of Peter Doran from Malvern who is celebrating his 80th birthday and is sponsoring this event.

Severn Jazz takes place at Portobello, 139 Bransford Road, Worcester, WR2 4EX.
