Evesham Town North and Rural South neighbourhood policing team

Inspector Gareth Morgan

I joined West Mercia in 2003 initially stationed on patrol in South Herefordshire before joining the Force Serious & Organised Crime Unit, returning to Herefordshire and  promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2009. In 2011 I joined the Force Operations firearms team as an Operational Firearms Commander (OFC) where I was responsible for Authorised Firearms Officers (AFO) and Roads Policing Officers (RPO), providing specialist support throughout West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police areas.

In 2014 I was part of the StraDA change programme before being promoted to the rank of Inspector in 2015 whereby I fulfilled a number of roles including head of Dogs and Tasking, Operational Patrol Units and strategic roads policing. I have been fortunate enough to support national Chief Officer portfolios in Pursuits and more recently Collision Investigation. I have additional responsibilities as a Tactical Firearms Commander (TFC), Public Order Bronze Commander and Post Incident Manager (PIM).

In 2017 I supported the Transformational Change programme before taking up my current post as Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector for Wychavon. I am looking forward to working closely with colleagues, partners and public to ensure Wychavon district remains a safe place to live and work.
