SINGERS due to perform in Worcester tonight cannot leave Zimbabwe.

Officials in the troubled African country would not grant members of Umdomo Weisizwe, the renowned vocal group scheduled to perform at Worcester Arts Workshop, exit visas - forcing their much-anticipated tour to be cancelled.

However, performing in their place is famed a capella group Siyaya, also from Zimbabwe. The group, whose name means "we are on the move", recently toured Spain and will perform at Glastonbury Festival this summer.

They combine a capella, with lively dance, music and theatre.

A spokesman for the Worcester Arts Workshop, in Sansome Street, Worcester, said: "They have a great reputation, perhaps bigger than Umdomo's."

For tickets call the box office on 01905 21095. For information about the band go to www.siyaya-arts.com
