Shop makes a move towards a better future

THE St Richard's Hospice charity shop in Upton-upon-Severn is moving to new premises on Saturday.

The shop has moved from its previous base in Old Street into High Street to benefit from more room and a better position in the town, according to hospice shops and commercial director Dan Corns.

He said: "The new site had been vacant for five months and it will be an excellent base for us to welcome our customers. Our shops are a vital way of raising money for St Richard's and our care of patients and families living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

"We are looking forward to welcoming our loyal St Richard's customers to the new shop and hope to encourage new people to come in and see the wider range of items on offer, helping to recycle goods and raise money for the hospice."

St Richard's Hospice, based in Wildwood Drive, Spetchley, Worcester, cares for people with terminal illnesses.

It includes an inpatient unit, day hospice, home care team, counselling and bereavement support, social work and physiotherapy.

The charity, whose services are free, cares for about 1,800 patients and families a year.

The new shop will sell quality donated clothing and will be open from Monday to Saturday each week.
