A housewife is facing up to 14 years jail after being convicted of five counts of child abuse while drunk at a friend’s birthday party.

Amanda Wheeler, who claimed she was “disgusted” by child sex, molested three boys aged 12, 13 and 14, before being branded “a paedo” by a teenage girl.

A jury found 31-year-old Wheeler, of Goodrest Walk, Rainbow Hill, Worcester, guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child and one of sexual assault after deliberating for more than six hours at the end of a two-week trial.

Judge Patrick Thomas QC granted her bail while pre-sentence and psychological reports are prepared. The part-time cleaner and her family are moving away from the Worcester area.

Mother-of-three Wheeler will be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on January 21. She was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register before leaving court and showed no emotion at the verdicts.

The judge said it was “a very difficult case” and confirmed he had not yet considered what sentence he should pass. But the maximum for sexual activity with a child is 14 years.

The judge also praised the officer in charge of the case, Detective Constable Craig Osborne, for carrying out “outstanding” work which “shone” throughout the trial.

Wheeler, who was aquitted by the jury of a sixth charge of sexual activity with a child, had drunk vodka, wine and beer before attending the 50th birthday bash on November 29 last year.

She kissed and groped a 12-year-old boy on a bench near the event before lap-dancing at the party when she straddled boys and rubbed her body against them, said James Dunstan, prosecuting at Worcester Crown Court.

She licked one victim’s face and bit another boy’s neck while pressing her breasts against him.

After midnight she molested two boys in a bedroom, pulling a 14-year-old’s trousers down and then committing a sex act, the jury heard.

The 13-year-old was made to carry out a sex act on her while his private parts were exposed.

The boys, scared of what had happened in the bedroom, later asked a 19-year-old if Wheeler could get pregnant from the sex frolics which had taken place.

Mr Dunstan said her behaviour that night had been “highly flirtatious” while she was trapped “in a drunken bubble”. The boys had given honest accounts to the police of what had occurred.

Wheeler told the jury she had an alcohol problem and was taking tablets for depression.

She denied lapdancing and said the boys wrongly accused her because they were in a panic that she would tell her husband they had misbehaved.

Defence counsel Samantha Forsyth conceded Wheeler had been “monumentally stupid” after drinking enough to “knock out a bull elephant”.
