Car parking on the agenda Car parking on the agenda

CAR parking in Worcester will come under the microscope during a meeting of the city council on Wednesday.

The scrutiny committee, a watchdog-style panel, will be getting a presentation on the future of car parking services in the city.

For the last three months the authority has slashed prices in its car parks in a bid to boost trade.

The meeting gets underway from 7pm and is open to the public.

Car parking charges should stop at 6.30pm like the yellow line restrictions. Worcester is dead in the evenings for a reason - who wants to pay to park as well as eat, drink, go to the cinema, concert or whatever. Better still, no charges between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm - boost the lunchtime trade.
