Helping to tackle the throw-away society
UNWANTED items that are too good to be thrown away can now be sent on to a new home via recycling sites in Worcester.
Under the new initiative from Worcestershire County Council, residents can drop off suitable bikes and household items at its Bilford Road and Hallow Road sites, where staff will put them aside for collection by the charities Worcestershire Lifestyles and St Richard’s Hospice.
All upholstered items such as chairs and mattresses must carry a label confirming they comply with fire safety regulations.
Coun Anthony Blagg, cabinet member for environment and waste management, said: “It is environmentally friendly as well as being good for the community, and it has been well worth our support and investment.”

Would it be too much for someone to supply details of a working weblink. Surprise surprise the one here doesn't work.
