Ronald's know-how earns solar energy prize
Midlands renewable energy specialist Eco2Solar has announced the winner of its Making Sense of Green Energy competition in partnership with your Worcester News. Ronald Clayton, of Oldbury Road, Worcester, was named the lucky winner of the solar photovoltaic (PV) panels worth £5,000 for installation on his home, out of almost 300 entries. The prize will help Mr Clayton generate free, clean electricity for his home. He will also receive payments from the Government’s feed-in-tariff for the electricity he generates. Paul Hutchens, managing director of Eco2Solar, said: “We’re delighted with the response to the competition and extremely pleased to present Mr Clayton with his prize.
“It has been a fantastic green energy campaign.
“It has helped so many more homeowners understand the benefits of renewable energy.” Mr Clayton said: “I’m very pleased at the prospect of generating my own electricity at home and doing my bit to support green energy and help save our planet.
“Not only will the installation help me make savings and reduce electricity costs, it will also lower my carbon footprint.”
The week-long competition asked readers to answer a series of questions in the run- up to Eco2Solar’s Making Sense of Green Energy event last month. The campaign was designed to educate homeowners on the benefits of energy efficiency in the home and how to generate green energy.
It also helped publicise the latest developments on the Government’s feed-in tariffs and new Green Deal.
