PEOPLE staying at a homeless hostel in Worcester are to benefit from renovations at a nearby hotel.

Richard and Kelly Bailey, the new owners of the Bank House Hotel and Golf Club in Bransford, near Worcester, have donated good quality unwanted furniture, beds and bedding to St Paul’s Hostel.

Aware of the close relationship between the hostel in Tallow Hill and Worcester Warriors, the couple invited players Neil Best and Errie Claassens to help move the items out.

Mr Bailey said: “It seemed such a waste to throw everything out. It’s all in good condition but just needs a little TLC.

“With the ongoing refurbishment work in 80 bedrooms, function rooms, bars and restaurants we reckon that we are going to be donating at least the combined weight of the whole Warriors’ team in furniture and furnishings.”

Any furniture the hostel doesn’t need will be sold to raise funds for the charity.

What a very kind gesture of the new owners of the Bank House Hotel. May it flourish under the new ownership.

Lets hope they will sit on the furniture during the day instead of making the approach to Shrub Hill station look like a camp site for drunks all the time.

Was invited to go and see what progress has been made at the Bank House recently and was amazed at the recent progress. The rooms they have finished are stunning and the kind way they were with both my wife and two little girls showed that the service is now top class. Well worth a visit!
