POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash on the B4084 between Pershore and Evesham yesterday.

A woman from Evesham, who is not being named at this time, died after the blue Toyota Yaris she was driving was involved in a smash with a black MAN lorry at around 10am.

The lorry was travelling towards Evesham when it collided with the Yaris near the junction of the turning for Cropthorne.

The woman, who is in her 60s, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his 30s from Pershore, was uninjured in the incident.

PC Lee Bluck is investigating the crash, said: "Our thoughts are with the woman's family and friends at this sad time.

"As with all fatal collisions, an investigation will take place to establish the cause of the crash.

"As part of the inquiry, it is vital we speak to any witnesses or anyone with information, including drivers who may have seen either of the vehicles involved prior to the collision."
