Back with you having missed last week due to a leg operation.

Had some bits ripped out so that I could make the 2012 Olympics.

I've said it before but I think the people who run the wards at our hopsitals are brilliant. It's a job I wouldn't want to do.

There are times when the system is not what it should be but the doctors and nurses do a fantastic job under great pressure, so a big thank-you to them.

Being laid up and unable to get out for a week I have re-discovered the joys of daytime television. What a lot of ******** most of it is.

Thank the Lord for Sky Sports. I know I moan about paying for it, but the cricket from India, and the rest of the sport kept me sane for a few days, not that I have been sane for years, but still.

There was one thing that annoyed me this week. I was really looking forward to the Barcelona versus Chelsea game on Tuesday with some of the best players in the world on show. While some of the football was brilliant I cannot see why the players have to cheat.

Rolling over and feigning injury, trying to get opponenets sent off, pressurising the officials.

It has to stop. Football is a great global game, but it is being spoiled by the cheats but don't think it only happens at the top level.

A couple of weks ago I watched a local game and the things you see at the top level filter down.

I know this is something I have spoken, or written of, before. But enough is enough, let's get it sorted.

Sorry about that, bit of a rant.

Can I thank everyone for the very kind messages following the death of my dad, they have been a great comfort to me and my family.

I think I mentioned he wrote down a lot of his memories and I've been reading them again this week.

As a lad he only got one black mark at school for being late back from dinner. They were cutting the corn in a field near the school, and as they got near the middle the rabbits would run out, get caught, and provide a tasty meal.

Dad stayed to catch rabbits, was late back, and got the cane, despite offering the teacher a rabbit!

Some time later he fell in the river at lunchtime while birdsnesting, but the teacher was kinder this time, lending him some trousers while his dried, but he still got a rollicking when he got home.

No rugby for me at Leicester this week so I'll be glued to the radio.

What time is Trisha on today?
