PARENTS in Worcestershire are invited to free information sessions where they can chat about issues affecting their family and work.

The county council's Family Information Service will be working with Jobcentre Plus to provide the sessions at Upton-upon-Severn Library, School Lane, on the last Friday of every month.

A representative from the FIS will provide free and impartial information for families with children aged up to 19 years on childcare, activities for children and young people, rights of working parents, working with children and services that support families.

A Jobcentre Plus representative will also be available to help people to find and apply for jobs.

The service can also provide financial support to find work, information on benefits for those in work and advice on employment rights for those with special needs or disabilities Lilla Havard is from the Family Information Service. She said: "The drop-in sessions have an informal atmosphere where people can chat about their personal circumstances in confidence. People have really benefited from this support in previous sessions and we hope to see lots of people there."

The first session starts at 1.30pm on Friday, November 24. To book an appointment call the Family Information Service on 01905 790560 or Jobcentre Plus on 01684 612519.
