AN independent school near Upton-upon-Severn is inviting parents to its autumn open day.

Bredon School open day on Saturday will give youngsters and their families a chance to see the school in action.

Pupils and staff will be on hand to show visitors around and to give a range of demonstrations of the school's working farm, sports facilities, workshops and classrooms.

Principal David Keyte said: "At Bredon, we pride ourselves on taking children with a wide range of abilities, finding out what they are good at and then stretching them so that they make the most of their talents.

"We are looking forward to meeting new families at the open day and explaining to them how our combination of small class sizes and a wide curriculum - including many vocational courses for older boys and girls - gives our pupils the best possible educational opportunities."

The school, for children aged seven to 18, is open to pupils of all abilities and offers a number of scholarships for children with talents in particular areas. Bredon also has special expertise in helping pupils suffering from specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia.

The open day takes place from 10am until noon. For more information, contact the school's admissions and development manager Doug Sharp, on 01684 293156 or email enquiries@bredonschool.co.uk
