A YOUNG girl’s birthday celebrations will certainly not be a dime a dozen as she turns 12 today.

Natasha Snee, of Beechfield Road, Malvern, will be celebrating the anniversary with a family tea after a day at school on 12.12.12.

The Chase pupil said: “I realised a few years ago that I would be turning 12 on the 12.12.12 and it has been really exciting counting down the days.

“My friends are always quite surprised when I tell them.”

She will be celebrating with her parents Martin and Sally, sisters Zoe, aged 15, and Thea, seven, as well as her grandparents.

A party with friends will take place after Christmas.

The number 12 has become a lucky number for the family and mum Sally said there were a few members of the family born on the 12th day of a month.

Mrs Snee said: “If someone tells me to think of a number I always choose 12. Natasha has tried to find someone else turning 12 on the same day but she hasn’t found anyone so far.”

Natasha’s birth in 2000 was as extraordinary as this year’s birthday celebrations and made the front page of the Worcester Evening News.

Her mum went into labour during the floods of December 2000 and was stuck in heavy traffic at Powick.

The couple flagged down a police officer, who rushed Mrs Snee to the former Ronkswood Hospital in Worcester, where she gave birth within the hour.

Natasha was nicknamed “water baby” in the paper and she said that people still remembered the coverage of her birth.
