THE Hive will celebrate its first Christmas with a weekend crammed full of festive fun.

Europe's first joint university and public library will transformed into a winter wonderland on Saturday and Sunday, December 22-23 with a range of activities for all age groups.

Unique Christmas presents inspired by the past from the Archive and Archaeology Service will be available, professional children's storytellers, Sally Tonge and Cat Weatherill, will perform winter tales at 11am and 1pm in the children's library and Worcester Volcano Community Choir will raise the golden roof with seasonal songs on Saturday.

The Snow Queen, presented by Sideways Theatre, will take the audience on a 90-minute journey through snow and mountains, with tickets available at £6 for adults and £3 for children.

Laura Worsfold, business development manager for The Hive, said: "This is the Hive's first Christmas and we hope our customers will enjoy what we have to offer.

"There is fun to be had for everyone at The Hive this festive weekend so please come and share the festive spirit with us."

The Hive Café will also be serving some winter warmers.
