A night to remember as diver Tom hits the town
11:20am Tuesday 1st January 2013 in News By Freya Leng
TEENAGE Olympic star Tom Daley made a splash when he turned up at a Worcester nightclub to help celebrate a friend’s birthday.
The 18-year-old was spotted on Saturday night with about 12 other party-goers and was seen enjoying some karaoke in a VIP booth at Sin before moving on to Bushwackers.
He even had a go at pulling a few pints and spinning some tunes before calling it a night at about 3.30am.
Darren Pinches, Bushwackers owner, said the London 2012 bronze medallist went down well with the crowd.
“He went behind the bar and served a few drinks and did a bit of DJ-ing,” he said.
“He seems quite a nice person. He seemed to quite like people talking to him and having photos, which is nice.
“He was very down to earth. He wanted to have a go on the bar and seemed to enjoy it.
“He just spoke to whoever spoke to him. It was quite a nice catch for us.”
The diving star tweeted on Saturday ahead of his night out: “Worcester better be ready ;) @josephcant happy birthday!!!!”
His friend Joe Cant later tweeted “Thankyou Worcester for a sick night with the London boyzzzz!”
