A COMMUNITY Christmas carolling event in Worcester raised £230 for charity.

Carols in the Community was organised by Warndon Villages resident Diane Price to raise money for the Midlands Air Ambulance and the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign. Miss Price organised the carol singing after being inspired by her own fond memories of it as a child.

The event took place around the Lyppards and the Harleys areas of the estate.

Miss Price said following the success of this year, she is hoping to do it again next year.

“People must have just been so generous to have given like that.

“Lots of elderly couples who opened the door were really delighted we were singing to them. We and the children got a lot of fun out of it.”
