Murder update - police given more time to question suspect

POLICE have been given more time to question a man arrested in connection with the murder of Adrian Locke.

In a short hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court today, police were granted a further 36 hours to question the man who was arrested in Birmingham in the early hours of Friday morning. He remains in custody at Worcester Police Station.

Mr Locke, aged 39, of Wych Road, Droitwich, was found by paramedics with stab wounds outside 42a Teme Road, Worcester at around 7.20pm on Wednesday.

Despite their efforts, Mr Locke was confirmed dead at the scene by a doctor a short while later.

A post-mortem examination on Thursday determined the cause of death as a stab wound to the torso. A knife which was recovered from number 42a and is undergoing forensic examinations.

Police continue to investigate whether more than one person was involved in the attack on Mr Locke.

They remain keen to speak to witnesses to the incident and wish to speak with anyone at the scene in Tolladine, particularly before emergency services arrived, or who saw anyone leaving the area at that time.

They are also keen to trace Mr Locke's whereabouts between 5pm and 7.20pm.
