Daniel Martin the man accused of killing Andrew Heath has appeared at Worcester Crown Court

A court hearing into the case of a man accused of murdering Andrew Heath, who died in a Worcester flat fire, has been adjourned.

Daniel Martin, aged 23, of Canterbury Road, Ronkswood, denies murdering the 52-year-old who died in a blaze at his home in Chedworth Close, Warndon, on December 24, 2011. A plea and case management hearing at Worcester Crown Court today was due to decide a likely date for the trial to begin,expected to be in May or June. But the hearing was adjourned until Thursday, February 7 and the court heard the trial is now expected to go before a High Court judge. There is also a possibility it could be moved to Birmingham Crown Court because there is limited space available for a six to eight week trial in the Worcester lists.

Martin was remanded in custody.

Three others who appeared with him are all charged with perverting the course of justice. Sarah Martin, aged 26, of Rodborough Drive, Warndon, Matthew Davies, aged 28, of the same address and Teresa Martin, aged 44, of Rodborough Close, Wanrdon, were all granted bail on their existing terms. . .
