THE victim of a car crash near Kidderminster has been named by police as 78-year-old Maurice Luscott-Evans.

Mr Luscott-Evans, who was from the area, died his red Vauxhall Aqila hit a tree yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the junction of the B4189 and the A451 near the Park Gate pub at about 12.40am.

Mr Luscott-Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Worcestershire coroner has been informed and a post mortem examination is due to take place on Monday.

PC Dave Langridge, of West Mercia Police, said: “We now know Mr Luscott-Evans travelled along the A442 Bridgnorth Road into Kidderminster, and is then likely to have been driven down the B4189 Wolverley Road towards the Park Gate.

“At that time of night there would not have been many vehicles on the road, so we would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing a small red car prior to the collision.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Langridge or Sgt Matt Eddy at the Force Operations Support Team at Rubery Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 13-S-100113.
