11:30am Monday 14th January 2013 in News
TV APPEARANCE: Kate Brackley, left, with Phillip Schofield, fellow show participant Sam and Holly Willoughby.
A DROITWICH woman is set to star on national television as she searches for a soul mate.
Kate Brackley, who has Down’s Syndrome, will appear on Channel 4’s the Undateables next week.
The show follows the journeys of several singletons with challenging conditions as they enter the dating circuit in pursuit of love.
“It will be strange seeing myself on the telly, but I’m really glad that I took part,” said the 29-year-old.
“I am looking for someone who is independent and outgoing, because that is how I am, and someone who also has the same interests.
“I like romantic films and I like to write poetry and wanted to be matched with someone who also likes those things.
“I was nervous about the dates, but it was a really great experience and the two dates that were organised for me went very well,” she said.
The office worker has also appeared on This Morning to help promote the series.
She met Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and spoke about what it was like to be filmed for the show. “It was great to meet Phillip and Holly. It was great to go there and talk to them about how I got on,” said Ms Brackley. The Undateables episode featuring Ms Brackley will be shown on Channel 4 on Tuesday, January 22.
