A MAN was flown to hospital with a serious head injury after falling from the roof of a house.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Lea Bank Avenue in Kidderminster just after 10.30am yesterday.

An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a doctor on board attended the scene.

A service spokeswoman said: “The man, in his 50s, had fallen two storeys from the roof of a house onto concrete floor.

“The man sustained a serious head injury. The crew and doctor anaesthetised the man on scene to stabilise his condition before he was fully immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board.

“Crews transferred the man to the awaiting helicopter, which had landed on the grounds of a nearby school, before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further assessment and treatment.”
