Barry Dearlove rape trial latest

Cross-dresser claimed transsexual made rape complaint Cross-dresser claimed transsexual made rape complaint

A transsexual claimed a fellow transsexual had made a rape complaint after a night out at a Worcester pub, a jury heard.

Teri Wilde said the alleged victim was upset, crying and angry - and she tried to console her.

It is alleged that Barry Dearlove, aged 32, attacked the victim at her city flat on May 1, 2011, after they left the Brewery Tap in Lowesmoor.

The pub holds "Blush Nights" on the first Saturday of each month for trans-genders, Worcester Crown Court was told.

Dearlove, who is known as Christina and lives in South Park Avenue, Didcot, Oxfordshire, denies rape.

He insisted to police that only kissing took place between him and the complainant while her partner, known as Diane, was ill.

A statement from Dr Mark Young was read to the jury in which he said the complainant had alleged during an appointment in June 2011 that she had been raped.

He advised her that it was a criminal matter and told her to report it to police. Dearlove was arrested at his home a week later.

The trial continues.
