STAFF have taken down the decorations and are getting ready for a new year of events at The Commandery in Worcester.

Sue Pope, the museum’s manager, said they were planning an exciting 2013 with events including a Shakespeare performance, marking the Battle of Worcester, and an exhibition by Sight Concern.

The first event on the calendar will be Love Worcester, which has been organised by VisitWorcester to run from Valentine’s Day until February 25. The week will celebrate heritage buildings in the city and events will have a love theme. Commandery community craft will return following last year’s record-breaking attempt to knit leaves to be sewn together for blankets for the homeless.

People have knitted 3,000 leaves and they are still hoping to beat the current record of 4,000. Picture by John Anyon. 0113213101
