SEVEN families could benefit from specially adapted equipment for disabled children following an appeal from fund-raisers.

Members of the Green Bike Riders and Worcester Round Table said they were delighted to discover that more children could benefit from the equipment.

The team presented Felix Jones-Whale from Kidderminster with a specially-adapted trike for his fourth birthday at the Green Bike Company, of Bromyard Road, Worcester.

They appealed in your Worcester News for families to come forward to benefit from a trike from Caudwell Children, which is a charity providing family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK.

Seven families have come forward with one applying for a trike and six applying for other specialist equipment.

A spokeswoman for Caudwell Children said: “The family that has applied for a bike said they came forward after seeing the appeal in the paper.

“It is great news for the charity especially as we have just launched an online application form which should make applying for equipment even easier.”

Funding for the bikes, which cost about £2,000, has been raised through events at the Green Bike Company and £1 donations from cyclists.

Anyone who wishes to apply for equipment or would like more information should log on to caudwellchildren.com.
