FINALIST: Giles Potter will perform at the finals of Open Mic UK 2013 in London tomorrow
A WORCESTERSHIRE singer has made it through to the finals of a national competition.
Giles Potter, aged 15, from Norton, near Worcester, is one of 30 finalists in his age category of Open Mic UK 2013 who will perform at the 02 Indigo Arena in London tomorrow, in front of an audience of around 2,000 people.
Giles also reached the finals of the same competition last year and will be hoping to better his chances today, with his performance of Olly Murs’s Troublemaker.
He was inspired to enter the national competition after making the finals of the local W-Factor competition, which is run by Wychavon District Council, three years ago.
Since then, he has received a lot of support and encouragement from local people.
His mum, Tara Potter, said: “It’s given him a bit of a taste for it, he loves to have an audience.
“It doesn’t phase him at all.”
