Malvern jewellery raid - car caught on CCTV Malvern jewellery raid - car caught on CCTV

CCTV of a car believed to be linked to a burglary in Malvern has been released by police.

Detectives investigating a burglary that took place near Malvern in November have released a CCTV image of a car they would like to trace.

Between 11.30am and 1.30pm on Thursday, November 8, someone has forced entry to the rear kitchen window of a house on the A449 Worcester Road at Pin's Green near Newland. They have stolen a large amount of jewellery worth thousands of pounds.

At the time of the offence, a witness recalls seeing a car with tinted windows pull up on a nearby lay and pick up a lone male. It then drove off in the direction of Worcester.

This car was caught on CCTV images from a neighbouring property at around 11.50am and it appears to be a silver Vauxhall Vectra estate, a 1995 to 2002 model.

Detective Constable Pete Ryland, who is investigating the burglary, said: "The car is central to our investigation: its driver and the person it picks up could either be important witnesses or potential suspects and I need to trace them.

"If you recognise the Vectra, with its distinctive blacked out windows, please get in touch."

DC Ryland can be contacted via the non-emergency police number 101 or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Please quote the reference number 325S 08/11/12.

The appeals to the public often go out weeks, months and even years after the offence. which also surprises me, but must be the way that the police work.
But I would have thought the event if seen by anyone a long time ago would be unreliable and have gone from their memory. Would mine.
Mind you when we were broken into twice in the same week all we got from the police was an incident number.
