A MAN has been arrested in a connection with a serious knife assault at a bar in Evesham.

During the assault which took place at 11.25pm on Wednesday, December 19, at Chancers in Vine Street, a member of staff was assaulted by a man armed with a knife.

He received a serious wound to his hand and forearm and was taken to hospital.

West Mercia Police released an appeal to trace Peter O'Shaughnessy, aged 31, who they wanted to question about the assault.

O'Shaughnessy, who lives in the Halewood area of Liverpool, was arrested at 11am this morning at a property in Halewood, Merseyside, following intelligence received by police.

O'Shaughnessy, who also goes by the name of Pierre, is now in the custody of the Cheshire police.

Officers wish to interview him about an offence in their area when in November a man was robbed of his car at knifepoint.

He will be passed into the custody of West Mercia Police in due course.
