MORE than 1,000 hand-knitted bobble hats are raising vital funds for a local charity.
Volunteers, members of the public and staff from Age Concern Herefordshire & Worcestershire branch have knitted the little hats, which fit across the cap of a bottle of an Innocent Smoothie drink.
Every time one of the bottles wearing one of the colourful hats is sold the charity will receive 50p.
The good cause sent 1,850 bobble hats to Innocent and they are hoping sales will raise at least £900. The hat-wearing smoothies will be on sale in Sainsbury's and Eat outlets throughout the two counties from the end of November.
A charity spokeswoman said: "We would like to thank everyone who took part, from those who donated wool and knitting needles, to those who knitted hats, and those who sewed on bobbles.
"We really wouldn't have been able to do it without such a tremendous effort from all of those involved."
Age Concern is a registered charity offering vital support and advice to pensioners across the two counties. For more details on Age Concern Herefordshire & Worcestershire, based in Sansome Street, Worcester call 01905 726652. Alternatively, visit www.ageconcern.org.uk
