My weight loss led me to a new job

A SLIMMER who transformed her life by losing nearly five stone is using her success to shape a new career helping others make changes for the better.
Laura Freeman joined her local Slimming World group in Worcester 18 months ago and has since dropped from a size 24 to a 14.
Now, Miss Freeman, who lives in Sebright Avenue, Worcester, has trained as a consultant for Slimming World and is taking over as leader of the city’s Bishop Perowne group.
She said: “Obesity is becoming such a huge issue across the UK. I just can’t wait to get started.
“It’s a privilege for me to be able to pass on the experience, insight and understanding that helped me, so that I can give my members the support they need to get to target.
“My weight loss has completely changed my life.
“Before I joined I slipped three discs in my back and I was unable to walk or move easily; at that time I was taking 27 painkillers and Morphine every day.
“I was in absolute agony and it really scared me as I felt so isolated from normal day-to-day life.
“When I eventually built up the courage to join a group I was so nervous.
“I felt like I would be the only overweight person there but I’m so glad now that I did, it’s changed my life and given me so many more opportunities and also boosted my confidence and self-esteem.”
Her Slimming World group will be held at Worcester’s Bishop Perowne College in the drama studio every Monday at 7.30pm.
