A PERSHORE man has been banned from all bars and pubs in the town and from being drunk in public.
Christian Bond, aged 32, of Cornmore, Pershore, was served with a two-year Conviction-related Anti-social Behaviour Order, or Crasbo, last August at Worcester Magistrates' Court.
The order came into effect in Thursday, January 24, when Bond was released from prison on licence after serving six months of a one-year sentence. He had been convicted of possessing three kitchen knives in public and threatening to burn down a house.
The order bans him from entering licensed premises in Pershore, being drunk in public, drinking in public, possessing alcohol in an open container in public, or behaving in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
PC John Hunter said: "I have known Bond since the 90s and he has admitted to me before that he has a drink problem.
"He is a nuisance when drunk; many members of the public have been caused harassment, alarm and distress, and he has already been barred from most pubs in Pershore.
"While he is a pleasant young man when sober, when he has had a drink he becomes violent, threatening and abusive; his language is vile. He cannot control himself and does not care who hears his abuse, including children."
He said an two-year anti-social behaviour order against Bond in 2007 was effective, but since it expired, there has been a recent escalation of disorder and threats to the public.
"I hope this new order will help him mend his ways, although, if you see him drunk in a public place or drinking in any of the pubs or bars in Pershore, please contact West Mercia Police and we can take action."
